Xiamen Airlines recently announced plans to add four aircraft to fly on two plateau routes in July or August, further expanding its network in the domestic market.

In July, the carrier will start offering services on two new routes, namely Xiamen-Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou, and Xiamen-Chengdu-Lhasa. This is Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport's first flight route linking Lhasa, the capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, which is called 'the roof of world'.

Currently Xiamen Airlines has a fleet of 71 Boeing aircraft. It aims to have 136 aircraft by 2015, including six wide-body aircraft.
